6 -50 yard skeins included! 

In this 3 hour workshop you will knit a small 8” X 8” sampler with
numerous one or two row texture stitches to add character,
depth and interest to your project.
Twisted or braid cast ons, fringes, Estonian wrapped stitches,
Scandinavian stitches, purls, slipped stitches, twisted stitches.
You will be amazed at what a few texture stitches can do!

Festival By the Sea

Tapping into the area’s wealth of musical and artistic talents, the family-friendly Festival will feature live music on two stages throughout the day, culminating in an evening waterfront concert in Masconomo Park. While walking through town, visitors will be able to peruse the art and handcrafted items created by some of the area’s finest artists, craftsmen, and jewelry designers. Local restaurants will showcase some of their most tempting creations while area farmers and co-ops will be on hand with locally grown fruits and vegetables. Festival by the Sea will most definitely provide visitors with a summertime glimpse into some of the best that Cape Ann has to offer. The event, starting at 10:00 am, is free and there will be ample parking and a complimentary shuttle to and from satellite parking areas. Mark your calendar and pack your blanket for a day of great music, inspired artistry and delicious, locally grown foods.

THE FIBER FESTIVAL OF NEW ENGLAND

Fiber enthusiasts are coming together for the seventh annual Fiber Festival of New England, Nov. 5 & 6 in the Mallary Complex at Eastern States Exposition. The event, co-produced by the Exposition and the New England Sheep and Wool Growers Association, promotes the use of wool and other natural fibers and related products to the general public.

More than 150 New England exhibitors will be showcasing their products including clothing, quilts, blankets, rugs, looms, spinning wheels and more. Workshops on felting, spinning, punch needle, Tunisian crochet, rug hooking and more will be held both days.

Let's not forget about the Fleece Sale, Fiber Fashion Show, Make It With Wool Competition and Sheep Shearing Demonstrations.

Romney Ridge Summer Knit Along!

We will begin the KAL on June 15th!  Yarns will ship or can be picked up on June 1st!    We will end the KAL on September 30th.   A class/piecing party will be available at the shop in September to help you piece your sweater together should you need help. :)  There are lots of wonderful top-down sweaters out there, but why not challenge yourself with a simple, fitted, easy to take along project as you bop around during the summer months!  Please pre-order soon as all yarns will be freshly dyed for the KAL!

Handwoven cotton dishtowels

Join Joyce Kachinski for a fun evening and weave a super absorbent dishtowel.  In this class you will work on a pre-warped Rigid Heddle loom and weave a cotton dishtowel using hand dyed Romney Ridge cotton yarn.  Choose your own weft color or colors to match your kitchen, dishes or just whatever strikes your fancy and create a soft, sturdy, beautiful dishtowel that you’ll enjoy using.  

The cost of the class includes the use of a pre-warped Rigid Heddle loom, instruction on weaving your own dishtowel and one skein of hand-dyed cotton yarn to complete a towel. Choose your colors when you come to the class.

Join Zwitsa Kachinski in weaving a with hand-spun yarn as well as a variety of other yarns to create a gorgeous scarf/shawl.  In this three hour class you will work on a pre-warped loom to weave a work of art.
Included in the cost of the class is the use of a rigid heddle loom, instruction to finish your project, one skein of hand dyed Romney Ridge Linen blend yarn and enough Meraki Handwoven hand spun yarn to complete your scarf/shawl.

Knit North Yarn Crawl

The Knit North Yarn Crawl is a self-guided tour of 6 fabulous shops located along Boston's beautiful North Shore. Each shop will have different specials, trunk shows, visiting designers, and lots of other goodies. Visit just a couple of shops, or all of them, it's up to you!

Each shop will have their own set of raffle prizes and a grand prize. There is also an overall Knit North Yarn Crawl Grand Prize for one lucky winner, which includes a goodie bag from all the participating shops. To enter to win the Knit North Yarn Crawl Grand Prize, you must collect stamps from at least 3 different shops. Only one entry per person. To collect your stamps, pick up your passport at your first stop on the crawl!

The Market takes place weekly on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, Jan. 7-March 11, 2017. We're located in the greenhouses at Russell's. More than 100 vendors will attend over the course of our 10-week season.

In addition to our Special Events days, you will be able to meet authors, take workshops, and watch free demonstrations. Breakfast and lunch will be available, and we hope you will sit down in the greenhouse and enjoy our tropical setting on a winter's day.

We encourage you to signup for our weekly email, which tells you which vendors will be attending that week. Once the season begins, you will receive this weekly email. Encourage your friends to sign up for this email too so they won't miss out!
