Gore Place’s 30th Annual Sheepshearing Festival
SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This will be our 30th year of Sheepshearing! Stay tuned for more details!
$20 adults, Free to children 12 and under and Gore Place Members. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Online ticket sales will go live on March 15.
Our festival features both traditional manual blade sheep shearing and electric sheep shearing. Sheep fleeces are collected to be weighed in the kids’ activity tent and later sold. Our merino sheep and sheared the traditional way and other sheep are brought in for the electric shearing.
Our fiber tent area offers dozens of fiber artists specializing in wool yarn, roving, knitting kits, and finished wool products. Some even bring animals or special demonstrations.
Our crafter area has 76 booths with artisans selling handmade candles, birdhouses, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, and more!
Cape Ann Farmers’ Market includes over 72 food and craft vendors featuring local farms, prepared and ready made foods, jams and jellies, fresh salsa, homemade pasta, local cheese, honey, sausage and maple syrup and tons more! We also feature live music, work by local artists, educational booths, a weekly children’s activity sponsored by Cape Ann Art Haven , cooking demonstrations, and Seafood Throw-down cooking contests, which create a festive, community-building atmosphere.
Come on down and shop, play, stroll, picnic, swim or just relax at beautiful Stage Fort Park where the view alone is nourishment for the soul.

Fiber enthusiasts are coming together for the seventh annual Fiber Festival of New England, Nov. 5 & 6 in the Mallary Complex at Eastern States Exposition. The event, co-produced by the Exposition and the New England Sheep and Wool Growers Association, promotes the use of wool and other natural fibers and related products to the general public.
More than 150 New England exhibitors will be showcasing their products including clothing, quilts, blankets, rugs, looms, spinning wheels and more. Workshops on felting, spinning, punch needle, Tunisian crochet, rug hooking and more will be held both days.
Let's not forget about the Fleece Sale, Fiber Fashion Show, Make It With Wool Competition and Sheep Shearing Demonstrations.

The Market takes place weekly on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, Jan. 7-March 11, 2017. We're located in the greenhouses at Russell's. More than 100 vendors will attend over the course of our 10-week season.
In addition to our Special Events days, you will be able to meet authors, take workshops, and watch free demonstrations. Breakfast and lunch will be available, and we hope you will sit down in the greenhouse and enjoy our tropical setting on a winter's day.
We encourage you to signup for our weekly email, which tells you which vendors will be attending that week. Once the season begins, you will receive this weekly email. Encourage your friends to sign up for this email too so they won't miss out!

Please join us at: The Waldorf Enchanted Fair on November 19th 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. It is a celebration not to be missed and we are so excited to be a part of it!
This wonderful event unites the community and encourages the magic of childhood through food, shopping and inspired children's activities. Guests explore the Wee Folk Shoppe; a miniature store only accessible to those less than four feet tall, slay dragons through archery, create magnificent wands, make colorful winter hats and hand dip candles.
There will also be face painting and dress up for photo booth picture taking, cape making, music, storytelling and holiday shopping and food for all!
