Our Yarns come from Maine.
Some are grown right here our farm by our own sheep, Angora
goats and Angora rabbits. Percentages of our wool fleeces are
combined and spun with Mohair and Angora, and some are
spun as 100% wool. Romney Ridge Farm Yarns are spun by
Green Mountain Spinnery in Putney VT using the worsted
system.

Other yarns that well sell are created from over 4,000 lbs of
Maine- grown wool purchased from the Maine Wool Pool - a
traditional, cooperative gathering of Maine Sheep Farms which
dates back to the 1940s, and allows individual sellers to "pool"
their wool for sale. Romney Ridge Farm purchases this wool,
divides it by breed, and combines it by percentages of fleece-type
into a wonderful light-weight worsted weight yarn.

This fiber is washed at RITEWAY Scouring in Waldoboro,
Maine and spun at Bartlett Yarns in Harmony Maine using the
woollen system.

All of our yarns are hand-dyed using Cushing Dyes created in
Maine.
